What is Thuso?
Thuso is South Africa's first multi-brand building-supply app, by The Building Company. It puts BUCO, Timbercity, Citiwood and HHL in one app so you can order across all four in a single basket — delivered to your door, or straight to site. Thuso means help in Setswana and Sesotho, and that's the promise: help is on the way.
Which brands can I shop on Thuso?
Four of The Building Company's brands: BUCO (hardware and buildware), Timbercity (timber and board), Citiwood (board and panel products) and HHL (Handles, Hinges & Locks). Mix items from all four in one basket, with one checkout and one delivery.
When does Thuso launch?
September 2026, on iOS and Android — both at the same time. Join the early-access list and you'll have it the day it drops.
Is Thuso free?
Yes. Free to download, free to use. You pay for what you order, and the delivery price is shown before you confirm.
Ordering & delivery
Does Thuso deliver to building sites?
Yes — that's the point. Set a home address or a site address, pick a slot that suits your programme, and a vehicle sized for the load brings it to you. Planks, boards, cement, bulk — this is delivery built for building material, not parcels.
What does delivery cost?
Delivery is priced by load and distance, and you'll always see the delivery price in the app before you confirm the order. No surprises at the gate.
Can I track my order?
Live, on a map — from the yard to your gate. You'll see the route, the driver and vehicle details, and the status at every step: packed, on the road, delivered.

How does the mark-up engine work?
Set your own mark-up per item or across the whole batch. Thuso shows three numbers on every line — your cost, your price, your profit — and totals them up. Then it sends a clean, professional quote under your business name and logo. Your client only ever sees the final price, never your cost or margin.
What is Find a Trade?
A directory of verified professionals inside the app — tilers, electricians, carpenters and more, searchable by trade and area. For customers it's the right hands for the job; for tradespeople it's a profile that wins work. Every professional is verified before they're listed.
Rewards & your account
How do Thuso rewards work?
One profile, four brands, one virtual card that lives in the app. Swipe it at the till in store, or order in the app — every rand counts toward rewards either way. There's a welcome reward to get you started, and offers that fit what you actually build.
What happens to my information?
Your information runs your profile, your orders and your rewards — and it's handled in line with POPIA. The full privacy policy will be available in the app and on this site at launch.
